Bring the PVP stage production to your community

The Pro-Voice Project stage production is the beating heart of the entire enterprise to change the abortion conversation in Idaho. The performance involves actors sharing local resident’s stories of reproductive choice, each tale serving to engender more empathy and understanding for the decisions we make about our bodies and our lives. The powerful performance — which rarely leaves a dry eye in the house — is followed by a panel discussion with physicians, attorneys, and activists to highlight the scope of Idaho’s anti-abortion laws, how they affect us, and ways in which we can effect change.

If you’d like to bring the project to your community, we’ve got all the information and guidance you need to put on a stellar stage production. From stories (and the ability to story-gather), to potential panel topics and participants, guidance on security, press release templates, logos, posters, and more, we’ve got you covered. All you need to bring is energy, enthusiasm, and connections within your own community. We’ve got the seeds. You go forth and scatter them broadly. And then witness the power of story to change the dialog.

Or help us organize an abortion storytelling workshop

Storytelling workshops are a powerful opportunity for community members to gather and bear witness to one another’s physical and emotional journeys. The single-session, half-day gatherings provide a supportive space for people to put voice to their personal stories of reproductive choice. Through writing prompts, discussion, deep listening, and trust-building, our storytelling guides help bring the experience of abortion — something both deeply private and commonplace — out of the shadows, allowing for catharsis and deeper understanding. The goal is to get beyond the harsh dualities and moralities so often found in public discourse on abortion, and delve into the heart of the experience: the emotions, the hopes, the fears, the what-might-have-beens foregone, and all that yet lingers. If participants so choose, their stories may be included in forthcoming stage productions or in the PVP library.

Or, perhaps most importantly, share your abortion story.

Dare to shatter the silence. Dare to be heard. Dare to be Pro-Voice.

Submissions are added to the Pro-Voice library and will remain anonymous.
