From our documentary shorts series Overturned, Episode 1
Physician stories are vital.
Since Dobbs, 43% of Idaho’s OB/GYNs who were practicing at the time—114 of 268—left the state, stopped practicing obstetrics, retired or closed their practice. The exodus disproportionately affects rural areas, with only 23 OBGYNs remaining to serve areas outside of major population centers. Now 500,000+ Idahoans have to drive 30 min to 2+ hours for care.
Behind each of these statistics is a doctor or provider on the front lines of reproductive healthcare, struggling to provide care in often impossible circumstances.
