By submitting a story, image, audio, video, artwork, or other content (“Submission”) to The Pro-Voice Project (“PVP”), you acknowledge and agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
1. Your authority to submit
You represent and warrant that the Submission is your own original work, or that you have all necessary rights, permissions, and authority to provide it to PVP for the uses described below. You further represent that your Submission does not infringe upon or violate the intellectual property rights, privacy rights, publicity rights, confidentiality rights, or any other legal rights of any third party, and does not violate any applicable law.
2. Voluntary submission
You are voluntarily submitting your Submission to PVP for review and possible use in connection with PVP’s mission-driven storytelling, educational, artistic, cultural, and advocacy-related work.
3. License granted to PVP
By submitting content to PVP, you grant PVP a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual license to review, reproduce, edit, adapt, publish, display, perform, distribute, and otherwise use your Submission, in whole or in part, in any media now known or later developed, including but not limited to PVP’s website, social media, live storytelling events, performances, exhibits, films, printed materials, fundraising materials, educational programming, and related mission-aligned communications.
This license includes the right to edit your Submission for clarity, length, formatting, accessibility, safety, and alignment with PVP’s editorial standards, while preserving its intended meaning to the extent reasonably possible.
4. Anonymous and attributed use
Unless otherwise agreed, PVP may share your Submission in anonymous form. If you include identifying details, PVP will make reasonable efforts to protect your anonymity when anonymity is intended; however, complete anonymity cannot be guaranteed, particularly where facts, context, voice, writing style, geography, timing, or other details may make a story recognizable to others.
5. Public sharing and legal sensitivity
You understand that PVP may publicly share your Submission through channels including digital publication, social media, live storytelling, educational programming, exhibitions, and advocacy-related programming. If your Submission references self-managed abortion, criminalized healthcare circumstances, or another legally sensitive situation, PVP may contact you for additional information, clarification, consent, or risk review before deciding whether or how to share it publicly.
6. Removal requests
You may request that PVP discontinue future PVP-controlled uses of your Submission by contacting PVP in writing. PVP will make reasonable efforts to honor such requests prospectively within a reasonable period. However, you understand and agree that PVP cannot retract or control materials already published, printed, performed, exhibited, downloaded, archived, copied, redistributed, or shared by third parties prior to the request.
7. Prohibited content
You agree not to submit:
content that belongs to another person without permission;
false, defamatory, threatening, harassing, obscene, or unlawful material;
anyone else’s identification documents;
anyone else’s private medical, legal, or personally identifying information without their explicit permission; or
content that could reasonably create avoidable legal or safety risks for another person or for PVP.
8. PVP review and editorial discretion
PVP reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to review, edit, decline, withhold, anonymize further, or remove any Submission at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to concerns regarding legality, safety, privacy, accuracy, consent, mission alignment, reputational risk, or compliance with these Terms & Conditions.
9. Intellectual property complaints
PVP respects the intellectual property rights of others. If any person believes that material submitted to or used by PVP infringes their copyright or other rights, they may contact PVP with sufficient detail for investigation. PVP may remove or restrict access to challenged material while the matter is reviewed. If you believe your Submission was removed in error, you may contact PVP to request reconsideration.
10. Data practices and security
PVP makes reasonable efforts to minimize collection and retention of personal data and to protect submitted information, consistent with our operational and security needs. However, no website, platform, email system, cloud storage provider, or digital transmission method can guarantee absolute security or confidentiality. By submitting content electronically, you acknowledge and accept these risks.
11. No promise of publication or compensation
Submission of content does not guarantee that PVP will publish, perform, display, distribute, or otherwise use the Submission. Unless expressly agreed in writing, no compensation, royalty, fee, or other payment will be owed in connection with PVP’s use of a Submission.
12. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless The Pro-Voice Project, its officers, directors, employees, contractors, volunteers, agents, successors, and assigns from and against any and all claims, demands, actions, liabilities, losses, damages, judgments, settlements, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, arising out of or related to:
content you submit in violation of these Terms & Conditions;
your breach of any representation, warranty, or obligation under these Terms & Conditions; or
any claim that your Submission infringes or violates the rights of another party.
13. Limitation of responsibility
To the fullest extent permitted by law, PVP shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, reputational, or punitive damages arising from or related to the submission, review, editing, publication, removal, or non-use of any Submission.
14. Acceptance of terms
By submitting content to PVP, you affirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
