Meghan Kahnle
Meet Meghan Kahnle, collage and mixed media artist
From:
“From” Mountain NW, currently reside in Boise
Medium:
Collage and Mixed Media
Motivation to create this piece:
“Connect 40” was originally part of a group show called “Curious Nonsense” and inspired by a silly conversation with a friend who was pregnant with her first child. And so this playfulness was born out of leveraging the stork myth, Connect 4 game, nature, and upscaled experience of pregnancy.

Why is this movement important to you?: Because it’s wild that something so basic as having bodily autonomy is so controversial and regularly attacked.
What motivates you, or inspires your art?: Connection! That energetic invisible tissue that links one to another, makes one feel seen, understood, and not alone. This idea of connection is the driving force in my work. From the macro to the micro my aim is to connect with and honor the stories of time, place, and people through collage; while making it approachable and collaborative.
